Going to have to start this post with a WOW!! Wow, because I've only gone and noticed that I now have more than 1000 followers on my blog, 1002 to be exact, and to say I'm blown away with this is an understatement. I never dreamed my little blog would ever attract this many. So, letting this sink in, there are 1002 people out there that like my work, and blog, enough to want to come back and see more - for an artist who often struggles with her confidence, that means a LOT. So a huge thank you for all your support and feedback, it really is much appreciated.

My pencils have been put to one side in favour of pastels for my latest piece. I've always had a love/hate relationship with them if I'm honest but when I saw this photo of a Greyhound/Saluki cross it just had to be done in pastels. Meant I could also have a go on some Fisher 400 paper I've had for ages and been wanting to try. Wasn't disappointed with the paper, loved it in fact, so much better than velour, my paper of choice before. At least the pastel stays on the Fisher paper!

Something in coloured pencil next up on the drawing board but really enjoyed smooshing pastel about with this piece that I've a feeling they'll be making an appearance more often in my drawings.

January and February are months I always think about drawing horses for some reason and is probably down to the fact that I'm subconsciously thinking about a certain equine exhibition that I promise myself I'll enter work to every year. And it's a promise I always end up breaking. I get the drawings done to what I think and hope is exhibition worthy, make note of dates in my diary, download forms, etc, but come the time for entry can never afford the framing and postage costs with other things always seeming to take priority. It's frustrating! I have so many drawings that I need to/must get mounted and framed if I am to do all the things I want to with them – not going to get very far otherwise am I.

This is a drawing I started back in January and have been working slowly on when time permits. Only problem is I've now been working on it for so long that I'm struggling to stay motivated to get it finished. Think I need to put it to one side for a bit while I work on something else and can go back to it at a later date with fresh eyes.
